Greetings in Amharic

There are tons of ways to say hello in Amharic but the easiest and the most common one is "selam" ▶️.

Selam literally means peace, but can be taken as peace be unto you. It's the most versatile greeting because its gender neutral and also age neutral - elder friendly. 

With every amharic phrase, there are usually 4 ways you can say it. These are singular male, singular female, polite/elder, and group.

Depending on who you are addressing, you must adjust the verb accordingly.
